Student Travel Grants

The organizers of the DSN conference announce the availability of student travel grants to partially offset the cost of students planning to attend DSN 2022 in Baltimore, June 27 – June 30, 2022.

We anticipate awarding grants to both U.S. and international students, thanks to the generous support from our sponsors.

To be eligible, the applicant must be enrolled in a degree program at the time of DSN 2022. The student authors of accepted papers in any of the conference tracks are especially welcome to apply. Level of participation, such as authoring a regular main track paper or presenting work in progress at the Doctoral Forum and Fast Abstract sessions, will be used as a priority criterion in awarding the grants. Students from under-represented groups, those attending the conference for the first time, and the undergraduate students are also encouraged to apply.

To apply, include, at the front of your submission, in this order:

Then, continue with a write-up not exceeding 500 words stating your student status and summarizing your current research related to dependable and secure computing, what you hope to learn by attending the conference, and how you expect it to affect your future research directions. Ability to summarize is a quality of a good researcher, therefore too long a statement will be to the applicant’s disadvantage.

Faculty advisors of the graduate student applicants must provide a written statement regarding availability (or lack thereof) of travel funds for the students from NSF and other funding sources and commit to covering the cost of travel in excess of the travel grant.

Application submission is via e-mail, preferably as a PDF attachment, to the following address: student_travel_grant@dsn.org

Applications must be received no later than May 31, 2022 June 10, 2022.

Questions or comments about Student Travel Grants submission/selection should be directed to the committee at: student_travel_grant@dsn.org
